Rumex Crispus, commonly known as Yellow Dock, is a homoeopathic medicine derived from the root of the Rumex crispus plant. Belonging to the Polygonaceae family, it has been traditionally valued for its therapeutic properties in treating respiratory and skin disorders. In homoeopathy, Rumex Crispus is primarily used to alleviate symptoms of dry, tickling cough that worsens with cold air or exposure to cold wind. It is also employed for its effects on skin conditions like eczema and itching, as well as for digestive complaints.

- Cough
- Persistent tickling in the throat-pit leading to a cough that extends down to the bronchial tubes. The cough is triggered by touching the throat-pit and worsened by exposure to cold air, but is alleviated by covering the body and head completely.
- The cough is dry, persistent, and disrupts sleep, worsening with pressure, talking, inhaling cool air, and at night.
- ?Expectoration starts as thin, watery, and frothy, later becoming stringy and tough.
- Nasal and Tracheal Discharge
- The nose is dry with abundant mucous discharge from both the nose and trachea.
- Symptoms include rawness in the larynx and trachea, soreness behind the sternum (particularly on the left side near the left shoulder), and raw pain under the clavicle.
- Throat Sensations
- There is a sensation of a lump in the throat.
- Stomach Issues
- The edges of the tongue are sore and coated, and there is a sensation of a hard substance in the pit of the stomach, accompanied by hiccough, heartburn, and nausea. The patient cannot eat meat as it causes belching and itching. Pain in the pit of the stomach and chest shooting toward the throat-pit, worsened by movement or talking. There is also pain in the left breast after meals and flatulence.
- Chronic Gastritis
- Aching pain in the stomach’s pit, aggravated by movement or talking. Jaundice can develop after excessive alcohol use.
- Diarrhea
- Brown, watery diarrhea in the early morning, often accompanied by a cough that forces the patient out of bed.
- Advanced Tuberculosis (Phthisis)
- Effective in the advanced stages of tuberculosis.
- Rectal Issues
- Itching of the anus with a sensation of a stick in the rectum and hemorrhoids.
- Intense Itching
- Severe itching of the skin, especially on the lower extremities, which worsens when exposed to cold air during undressing.
- Urticaria and Prurigo
- Conditions that cause intense itching, including possibly contagious prurigo.
- Variable Pains: Pains that are numerous, varied, and not fixed in any particular location.
