Ipecacuanha, commonly known as Ipecac, is a homoeopathic medicine derived from the dried root of the Ipecacuanha plant. Belonging to the Rubiaceae family, it has been traditionally valued for its therapeutic properties in treating nausea, vomiting, and respiratory disorders. In homoeopathy, Ipecacuanha is primarily used to address symptoms such as persistent nausea, vomiting with profuse salivation, and bronchitis with spasmodic cough. It is also employed for its effects on asthma, hemorrhages, and menstrual disorders.

- Characterized by unrelenting nausea and vomiting, which are primary guiding symptoms for the use of Ipecacuanha.
- Vomiting can include food, bile, blood, and mucus.

- Especially indicated for symptoms arising after consuming indigestible foods like raisins and cakes.
- Susceptibility to Cold and Moisture
- Particularly suitable for feeble individuals, who often catch colds in a relaxing atmosphere, and are sensitive to warm, moist weather.
- Spasmodic Conditions
- Addresses spasmodic irritation in the chest and stomach, leading to conditions like dyspnea, asthma, and spasmodic jerking of the arms.

- Symptoms include red, inflamed eyes, profuse tearing, changing vision states, and nausea induced by looking at moving objects.
- Orbital neuralgia
- Presence of blue rings around the eyes and periodic orbital neuralgia with tearing, sensitivity to light, and smarting eyelids.
- Coryza
- Useful in coryza (inflammation of the mucous membranes in the nose), nasal blockage, and nosebleeds, often accompanied by nausea.
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Clean tongue with a moist mouth, constant nausea, and vomiting.
- The stomach may feel relaxed as if it’s hanging down, and hiccoughs can occur.
- Colic and Dysentery
- Amebic dysentery with tenesmus (straining to pass stools), severe pain around the navel causing nausea, and minimal thirst. Pain can be cutting and clutching.
- Stools may appear pitch-like green, like frothy molasses, and associated with griping pain at the navel.

- Respiratory Problems
