Aconitum napellus, commonly known as Monkshood, is a perennial herb with perpendicular, tapering tuberous roots. It is useful in the early stages of inflammation or fever and is particularly indicated by the sudden onset of violent symptoms, especially after exposure to dry, cold wind.
